goとcomeの使い分け問題、今回はその4回目。小説を題材に問題を作ってみた。
・story1
最初の小説は「宝島」の1シーンから。裏切り者たちの裏をかいて、砦の外に出て、反乱者の隙を突いて発砲、一人を倒したが、反乱者の反撃で、味方の一人、トムが撃たれてしまう。
The squire dropped down beside him on his knees and kissed his hand, crying like a child.（大地主さんはトムの傍らに両膝をついて、子供のように泣きながら、その手にキスをしていた。）
"Be I (・・・), doctor?" he asked.（「わしは死ぬんですかい？先生」とトムは尋ねた。）
"Tom, my man," said I,"you're (・・・) home."（「トム、おまえは故郷にかえるんだよ」）
・story2
二番目の小説は「ジキル氏とハイド氏」。
Mr. Enfield and the lawyer were on the other side of the by-street;（エンフィールド氏とアターソン氏はその裏通りの道の反対側を歩いていたが、）
but when they (・・・) abreast of the entry, the former lifted up his cane and pointed.（その家の入り口のすぐ近くにくると、エンフィールド氏がステッキをもちあげ指し示した。）
"Did you ever remark that door?" he asked;（「あのドアに気づいていましたか？」とエンフィールド氏はたずねた。）
and when his companion had replied in the affirmative,（そしてアターソン氏がうなずくと、）
"It is connected in my mind," added he, "with a very odd story."（「とても奇妙でかわった話があるんですがね」とつけ加えた。）
"Indeed?" said Mr. Utterson, with a slight change of voice,（「本当かい？」）
said Mr. Utterson, with a slight change of voice,（「本当かい?アターソン氏は少し声の調子をかえて言った。）
"and what was that?"（「で、何なんだい？」）
"Well, it was this way," returned Mr. Enfield:（「あぁ、こんな調子です」とエンフィールド氏は答えた。）
"I was (・・・) home from some place at the end of the world,（「私はどこか果てしなく遠いところから、家にかえるところでした。）
